    Kinect has effectively broadened Microsoft's demographic this holiday season.. on the other hand it has also sectioned off much of the hardcore demographic (their biggest following) and much of the gaming press.

    I think you've done a fair comparison, I am exited to see how this holiday turns out.

    Kinects marketing is genius and will probably make them the console to buy this holiday season. There is a big "if" though. If they can get that price down. They gotta get that price down to compete with Nintendo Wii.

    Starcade was actually in re-runs with G4 at some point in '03-'04 when I got the network. Watching some of those old arcade machines was fairly surreal... A lot of them I never knew even existed.

    I wish they would have updated the show or have done something similar with modern games, but hey, that might have been an intelligent idea...

    Great Blog! Covers many of the reasons I don't even watch the channel anymore.

    TechTV was a channel I could leave on all day. And if I looked at it, I'd see something cool, interesting, and informative. Whether it was a variation of Robot Wars, Screen Savers, Call for Help... or whatever.

    Adding some more gaming programming in the form of G4 seems like a great progression. Fill in some slow spots with more gaming news and original shows. Instead they cannibalized a great network and turned it into MTV for video game geeks. I'm really surprised there's not a reality show yet...

    I don't watch G4. But I was just wondering why they wouldn't maybe recreate or re-run a show like Starcade. I used to love that show back in the '80s. And it might help bring back the return of the arcade.
