the other nite on the shout box a few others were discussing pre orders. there are certain games i pre order to make sure that I have it on release day. the stores around me always seem to only carry 2 shelf copies of the game the first week or release so they kind of force me into it or I have to travel to 5 or 6 stores looking for the game on release day like it is the damm holy grail. Other times some games they never have unless you pre order. Some of the less hype games i run into this with. This month I pre ordered mlb the show, ff cc, force unleashed and persona 3 fez. i think that is the most that i pre ordered in a month. i knew that i would miss out on persona 3 if i didn't pre order. also do you just put the least amount down or do you pay in full? i pay in full most of the time. I really don't like the fact that I have to pre order and can't just stop by the game store on the way home from work to buy it on release day alot of times because the damm store never seems to stock enough copies. well i guess i could order it online and have it sent to my work address but if shipping gets screwed up or something who knows. so pre order is better for now.

    here is how "preordering" went for me. the first time i did it was at best buy and it was for the game F.E.A.R.

    on the box it said "fear pre-sale" dumb me mistook sale for order and boom i ended up buying the game again, and then i ended up buying the directors edition online and having it shipped the day it came out.

    2nd time i preordered a game was through amazon. i ordered the game, and then when it comes time for the game to be released i get told that i will have it a month from now. same thing happened when i preordered off of newegg.

    so no, i do not preorder.

    i live in so-cal and have the unfortunate luxury of a bazillion people in the same general area. there are always enough places and what not to cover demand, especially for the lack of demand that is the ps3.

    I've never, ever not been able to get a game because the store sold out so it's just pretty pointless for me...

    I pre-order a lot. Last year I pre-ordered about 15 games in March and just yesterday I pre-ordered 12. I don't always buy them after all but I like knowing that come release day I have one if I want it. I just put $5 on all of them. My local EB has never screwed me over and lost a pre-order or something and since I order so early I am usually first on the list to get my copy if they get less than expected.

    I just remember my friend driving around all morning on 360 launch trying to get one while I wandered into EB before they opened, got mine with 10% off accessories and was home and playing CoD2 laughing at my friend whining on the phone.
