I went this evening and put a $100 deposit towards the 360 Elite Bundle that's out right now, and I wanted to share my experience with you all.

I had heard initially about this when I had called yesterday and had inquired about some trade-in values.

Upon entering the Gamestop, I saw fliers advertising the Layaway promotion. $25 minimum required for the initial payment with a six-week payment period, however there are limitations on what can be put on this.

XBox:
2009 Elite Holiday Bundle
Arcade Unit

Nintendo:
Wii System
DSi System

That's what is eligible. The Modern Warfare 2 Bundle for 360 isn't eligible, and neither are any Sony products. When I inquired further, it was revealed to me by the employee that basically, what the store has the most stock of is eligible for this program. I find this really surprising to say the least. Overall, I was asked a total of two times about reserving or trading in anything towards the cost of the system.
