Gaming, now in 3D!!!!!

Ok, I rarely ever use my 3ds 3D features, when I do use it, it's very slight. So the thought of Sony's 3D TV makes me wonder if it's worth the price. Well the new year started and I had all my Best Buy coupons burning hole in my pocket and early sunday morning I noticed the price of the Playstation 3dtv display drop to $299 made it irrestiable.

I got it and hooked it up.

Easy to hook up. It took less then 10 minutes from unboxing to top of cabinet.

It came with it's own HDMI cable. Not sure why they just don't do this on PS3 systems.

No remote control!!!!!! Very frustrating but since there is no changing channels I really only have to turn it on and maybe adjust volume.

Only 1 pair of glasses!!! Think about this, it costs $70 for another pair of glasses and the main point of the display is Simulview which can't be used without another set of glasses. Maybe skip the HDMI cable and free game go with another set of glasses.

I played a few hours of MLB 11 the show to test the 3d. Awesome colors and 3d effect and I love the commentary commented that the game is being displayed in 3d.

I've played Motorstorm with Simulview already which is really effective and fun.

I'm looking at getting another 360 to go with the PS3 on the tv. I came off really excited and happy with the purchase and would recommend for purchasing. I am looking at trying out GT5 in 3D tonight.

    That is good to hear dude!! I wonder if you can still get it somewhere for that cheap! Thats an awesome deal!! I Dont want a real big 3d tv and the Little playstation tv looked perfect. I think i pick it up sometime after the vita comes out!!!! Let us know how gt5 looked on it! Im sure it looked beautiful!

    Was too sick last night to play. I am going to play as soon as I get home from work at 4pm est today. Expect a review online by 8pm est tonight! Plus I can try out Simulview with my son with GT5 because I read that was usable as well.

    I need to figure out where I would put it - because I'd still figure most of my gaming would be on the big set....thats a great price though if you want 3d gaming

    Ok, so we played tonight. Unlike MLB 11 the show which asks and recoginzes the 3dtv. Gran Turismo 5 doesn't do any of that. I had to search through the menus which was easy to find to switch from split screen to Simulview and for regular racing to turn on the 3d.

    Now passing the annoying menus the game and the 3D look AMAZING!!!! So smooth and beautiful to play. Simulview also works very well with the only disappointments is that I am no longer racing in 3D but the fact that I can race someone at the same time on the same full screen is sweet and much nicer then Motorstorm. Did I ever mention how sweet the sound is in this game???

    Dude I freaking feel like I really need one now!! It sounds awesome!! I loved Gran Turismo 5 back when it came out and that would be awesome to play with my friend in the same room on the same tv without having to resort to lame split screen! I want I want! haha after Vita definitely getting one! Thanks for the nice little review!! Trust customers way more than reading the bullet points on the box! Also I wonder if Sony will do this on other larger Bravias in the future?? hmmm
