I wish it had the pages, so that if we missed something, then we are able to go back into the older pages and see it, I wish that would stay, if you could do that.

And it seems great but it also seems too complex, the simplicity of the current shoutbox is what makes it so great imo, it isnt intimidating to the new user coming to the site, they can just quickly and easily say what they would like to.

I do like the new box, I just think it needs tweaking.

Hmm I am not sold on the new box. It is too busy and will only further clutter the pages. The current shout box works fine. I would throw out the idea of turning the new shoutbox into a Chat room. Were people can go to and chat on a separate page rather then on everypage like it would be.

I love it!!!

The general mood seems very positive so far. Everyone seems to like it, so even if The Marquis hates it (which he will) it will be okay because he doesn't count.

My main praise is the ability to see who is in the shoutbox at the time we turn to the site. Very cool stuff.

I like the look of the new shout box. The BB Code line and Smileys line are a cool addition. Plus, I like that it says which current members are in the shout box. Some suggestions:

1) Have the entire smileys line filled with smileys minus the [More...] link.
2) Have the smileys line customizable with smileys that can be chosen by each member.
3) Alternate text for the BB Code line since they don't say what they do.
4) Have the Full Page Mode open a new window instead of a new tab in the browser.
5) In Full Page Mode, the new shout box should be its own window like the current shout box instead of a chat window inside of another window.

The new shoutbox will feature more chat channels, what Ken has open at the minute is just the general chat. I would agree though that it does look alittle busy at first, but you can minimize alot off the stuff.

EDIT: Just a few things I noticed.

1) The mod ability to create a sticky in the new shoutbox is really nice, that will be a good way to make people aware off any game nights that are on that day.
2) If I remove any chat when I'm in "Full Page" mode then the chat doesn't seem to automatically refresh for me.

The [size] tag needs to be nuked.

Ultimately though I prefer the old shoutbox, it's a more elegant / efficient use of space with less non-chat getting in the way.

Is it based on mIRC?

If it is, then please post the IRC server info. I'd rather connect through Rooms on my iPhone or jIRC on my Mac.
