    Default Batman: The Animated Series

With the new Batman: Arkham Asylum game coming out at the end of the month I started watching the 90's Animated Series again and that is still a really good show. Batman: The Animated Series was one of the cartoons I grew up watching, that along with the early 90's Spiderman and X-Men animated series.

Has anyone else watched Batman: TAS recently? Do you still think its as good as it was?

Yeh I have the boxset aswell. Some off the stories etc. are abit chessy, but at the end of the day it was aimed at kids so you can't expect it to have really dark stories. The art-style though does a great job of catching the Batman vibe, and I actually think you see abit of that style in Batman: Arkham Asylum (pay attention to Gotham city at the start of the demo) and the voice acting is great.

Batman:TAS was losely based on the Batman movie with Michael Keaton.
Mark Hamill (yes luke skywalker) does a great Joker.

I picked up the series as it was coming out. It's been a while since I've popped one of them in the dvd player. I guess I know what I'll be watching this weekend.

Oh man i loved it, looking back it was probably my favorite comic based cartoon (freakazoid might have sneaked past in the generals category) but i didnt get to catch as much of it as i wanted to. To be honest i was so young when It was on TV that i dont remember many plot lines so I was toying with the idea of getting the box set.

Batman: TAS is by far my favorite cartoon of all time, and yes it does still hold up. I have them all on DVD and have gone back to watch them again and again and am still not disappointed. They had some of the best voice acting that I can recall, not just from a cartoon, but period. The picked voices that fit the characters perfectly, Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, Adrienne Barbeau and Arleen Sorkin just nailed their roles. I don't think anyone could have done them better.
Great, now I have to go watch them again. Thanks a lot!
