R.I.P. Evil Otto, hello Retroid
As some of you may have noticed, we no longer have the lovable red menace, Evil Otto as our site's favicon. While he has been our "unofficial" mascot throughout our years, both Ken and have agreed to retire our little friend. It sucks, because we both love Berzerk and Otto was a great representation of a memorable gaming icon that represented each of us in our own way. Plus, how cool is it to have the first "smilie" ever be an evil, badass character that can never be killed? Otto will always have a place in our gaming hearts, but since he's already represented in the Stern Electronics classic, we thought it would be best to focus on our own branding...one that was sitting right under our noses all along...
Retroids LLC is the parent company to VGEvo (see thread for full description). See that little guy that forms the "O"? That's the Retroid (or some may call him the Retroid-bot). He's our official mascot and we're going to be giving him his due representation on the site. He's already on our Twitter, Facebook and MySpace pages as well as the new favicon on VGEvo. As new opportunities pop up, we'll be implementing more of our branding where we deem necessary. We think it's about time.
