If I had a stable of 3D artists I'd totally take the plunge and make a Shadowrun fan MMO, yo.
much kudos to you leo. A shadowrun MMO - you tease. Now I won't sleep with an active imagination! Your right about the genesis 'matrix' sections (I only played it emulated - it was inexcusably never released over here!), but the snes game was the first time i felt immersed in a story in video games. The 'open ended' dialogue trees blew my mind on a console, and there were a couple of plot twists that i still think haven't been bested... Also visitations from your Totem were so exciting (don't want to spoil it too much, so I'll stop now....)

Just don't mention the 360/PC online shooter of 2007... Vista users only? Balls! Plus it gave microsoft the rights for the brand.... double balls! sold loads, no-one online to play it - nuff said.

Scott the 3DS will play DS games.

Leo I would suggest you check out Uplink. It sounds like a very similar to Hacker Evolution.

Does it play GBA as well? Aren't some of the DS models equipped with one of those slots?

The DS and DS lite have GBA slots and will hence play GBA games but not GB games. The DSi and DSi XL dropped the GBA slot but added a SD card slot. The 3DS that's been shown so far has a 3DS cartridge slot and a SD card slot. The 3DS carts are basically the same as DS carts but they have a little tab jutting out the side at the back which would stop you putting them into a DS cart slot. It's pretty standard practice for Nintendo handhelds being able to play games from previous generations system.

I love that not only were people not turned off that I mentioned a text based game but that I'm getting some awesome recommendations.

    Thanks guys.

Cheers! The Goo theme music always reminded me that I still had to play Portal. I finished the game today and enjoyed every second. You guys can change the theme music now, it served its purpose

I think Metal Gear 1 and 2 (NOT metal gear SOLID) need HD treatment. Actually they just need to be remade in 3D with metal gear quality/length cutscenes.. they're 20 year old games. 2D and all. they are intergal to the MGS storyline. they need to be remade.

Tenchu 2 was awesome. it needs a remake.
    Tombi/Tomba too.
    Final Fantasy 8.
    Syphon filter too.

Oh Shadowrun, how I love thee. Both the SNES and Gen versions. I played both earlier this year, the SNES still holds up great, and I am surprised at how everything came back to me as I played. The Genesis version's combat is a bit more unforgiving, but it still has an awesome storyline if you don't mind dying a lot. I played the 360 online semi-regularly, but it has been about a year since I have thrown it in, but for at least its first two years I was always able to get into a match online no problem.
