    Hosts: Dale, Chris, Lyzz, Joe

    Order of Bid-Ness:

    1) Intro
    2) Tester Season 2 Recap
    3) News - Microsoft won't allow AO Games
    4) News - Square's losing s**tload of money
    5) Review - Lara Croft & The Guardian of Light (XBLA/PSN)
    6) Review - Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)
    7) Review - X-Men (XBLA/PSN)
    8) Close out

    Show Notes:

We kick things off with being the only podcast to have the guts to do a recap of season 2 of the PSN exclusive reality show, The Tester. Chris and Lyzz then shed some light on news items with Microsoft refusing to allow AO games on the 360 and Square's lack of profits.

Dale reviews the XBLA and PSN rerelease of the classic X-Men arcade game. Dale's brother Joe is a special guest this episode as the brothers team up to review the awesome dungeon-crawler, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Finally, Joey has his controversial, in-depth review for the highly anticipated and much delayed Gran Turismo 5, along with plenty of comparisons and memories of past GT and Forza titles along with it. Nice episode, finally someone in the podcast started playing God Of War 3.
Some wrong things were said about GT5, the racing line adjusts the brakes zones depending on your speed, licenses are completely optional, damage is there both in Standard and Premium models but Racing cars have it in much more detail.

Thanks Yurtigo for the correction! My brother is pretty passionate about his Forza and GT, and that near hour long discussion on it was a blast. Being the GT/Forza newb I just mostly consumed the knowledge that Chris, Joe and Lyzz spat out. I had a feeling Joe was not a 100% on some of the things he was saying because I recall reading in reviews there being damage modeling present and license tests being optional.

Really enjoyed your discussion on the GT5. A lot of very, very valid points. I think you should revisit following this most recent patch that hit yesterday. Many of the online changes you discussed were somewhat addressed and I am anxious to see if they continue.

The "seasonal events" or online leaderboards/competition is what will be drawing me to more onlint GT5 gaming. I most recently got the Driving Force wheel and the driving is drastically improved. Now for more updates!

I will continue to be attracted to the sim driving (console) games - I was extremely anxious to see how GT5 answered Forza. I was told in the shoutbox I talk about it too much!

I actually like B-spec mode. It's ultimate for multitasking, when I'm on my laptop, browsing the internet, I run Bspec keep an eye on my driver from time to time.

    good for getting money.

The patch was suprising. It's pretty significant. And considering it took them so long to release GT5, it's suprising it took them less than a month to release the 1.5 patch.
No Hud mode is awesome. but hard.

After playing quite a bit of GT5 and then going back to Forza......I think I like GT5 more.

A couple weeks ago my opiinion was different but after going back GT just looks so much more realisitc....not exactly "better" overall but Forzas cars are just extremely bright and look a lot more "gamey" than GT5s IMO

Also the driving overall feels much more realistic and more tight(keep in mind I play with all asists off)

I just wish GT5 had better presentation and a better layed out and paced single player mode....which are 2 areas I feel Forza trumps GT....well those and customability.

Interesting. I will go back to forza with my wheel, and re-assess. The online portion of Forza really sells me still I think. Handling of the car (assists off) I will need to check out a little more. I still think the engine sounds in Forza are a bit better.

Something about GT5 keeps me coming back for more and I am not quite sure what it is. I think it has to do with HOW you progress in the game. Its very linear and despite the first handful of races being a joke, the difficulty seems appropriate on the later levels. The seasonal events are a HUGE plus for me as well.

Actually yeah...sound overall is better in Forza as well.....annnd online...lol In a way they're pretty equal in regards to what does what better.

I think I'll go back to Forza tonight and use my wheel. When I did the comparison of driving I was using a pad on GT5(because I was recording) and used a Ferarri California....so i went and popped in Forza bought the same car...and man..it just didn't feel.....right. THen again I've never driven a Ferarri so I couldn't say which one felt more realistic...I just felt(with a pad at least) it controlled better in GT5.

That being said.....I'll never drive with a pad again...it's wheel or nothin!!!

Its like when I started using a fight stick over a pad - COMPLETELY different experience!
