After years of build-up and waiting, Final Fantasy XIII was released to mediocre reviews. The game was a disappointment. If at first you don't succeed, try again.
Regardless of fan bickering or indifference, the game was a monster hit for Square Enix, moving over six million copies.
The game's developer, Square Enix, is working on Final Fantasy XIII-2, a direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII.
Square Enix has only unveiled the game's logo, which showed Final Fantasy XIII heroine Lightning as well as a new, unnamed character. It is thought that this character is Lightning's rival.
Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, which was originally only slated for the PS3, Final Fantasy XIII-2 is penciled in for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, right off the bat. The game won't have the wait that Final Fantasy XIII did. According to Square Enix, it will be released in 2011.

A world full of gamers.
HA! They're ballsy to say it'll come out this year. I mean, this is Square Enix we're talking about. They haven't made fun games in a timely manner since before the PS2.
Yeah, hold your breath on this one kids. I'm still waiting on that patch for XIII that was supposed to put in the fun. Let's all be smart, and just support Mistwalker from now on.
i hope that its not as linear as the first game or at least hides it better like ff10 did because the only real free roaming ff was 12

I don't know, I ended up really liking 13 by the end. It did suffer from a slow start... I'd be happy to play that style and system again, but I prefer they just opened it up from the beginning.
Currently into: 15th century villages, poutine, and holding onto a play off spot
Hopefully since the game engine is already finished this time around, they can focus on making the game better. I enjoyed FFXIII enough to finish it, but I would have still preferred a more fleshed out game.

Basically, i am a little iffy on it, seeing as how FF13 ended, but we'll see. It could be more better!
