General help
The MGC Chatbox Evo is really easy to use

You can :
  1. Send chats : you just have to enter the text in the dedicated input field and then to validate it by pushing the return key ou by clicking on the OK button.
  2. Format the chats :
  3. once you un-collapse the chatbox formatting toolbar by clicking on the BBCode button, you have access to different formatting options for your chats. You can format a chat by selecting a part (or the totality) of it and then select one of the buttons/list. You can also add empty formatting tags by selecting nothing and clicking one of the buttons/menu thus allowing you to add the chat text afterwards between these tags.*
  4. Access to the different channels : you can have access to different channels restricted to only some usergroupds or for specifics use of the chatbox. The different channels are accessible from the buttons on the left of the chatbox.*
  5. Edit your chats (or others chats) : the edition of a chat can be done by a simple double-click on it.*
  6. Use specific commands : some commands can be accessible in the chatbox depending on the will of the administrator(s) of your forum. These commands let you execute specific actions of formatting, management, etc... You will herebelow the information on the command which are accessible to you. You must notice that you are not forced to use the command prefixes (/command_name) when you use them in the channel they are attached to (except in the general channel).*
* : Depending on the settings chosen by the administrator(s) of the forum, you might not have access to all these features.

    Default Midwest Gaming Classic 2012

The Midwest Gaming Classic just announced its dates, location, Friday festivities, and opened up ticket pre-orders:

    Date: March 24 & 25, 2012
Some festivities begin Friday, March 23

Where: Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield Hotel in Wisconsin

Tickets: $25 for Saturday & Sunday (Pre-Order Special)

ALSO, see below for a special rate for Retroids members:

Dan Loosen has gone ahead and set up a page exclusively for Retroids! It offers discounted MGC tickets which includes Up To Par—an additional Friday night tournament option that will extend the value of MGC:

Click the link below for the special Retroids Up-to-Par package rate!

    2012 Event Tickets for Retroids

This essentially adds Up To Par to the existing Retroids package for a discount of $10 off the original $20 price. If you're going to be there on Friday, this is an awesome way to kick off MGC before the official show even starts!

Want more info on Up To Par? CLICK HERE!

    What's New So Far:
    • If you pre-order your tickets, certain areas will be available to you 30 minutes prior to the general public on Saturday, March 24.
    • There are several ticket packages available this year including one that takes a Friday road trip to local collector Tom Taylor's impressive 300+ unit in-home arcade.
    • There are now two Friday night tournaments: the original Friday Night Clock Chaos tournament for pinball and a new, console video game tournament in the museum called the Friday Night Up to Par tournament.

    What's Stayed the Same:
    • We held the line again on ticket prices which is pretty impressive when you consider we've done this now for the last several years despite our own costs climbing.
    • Similarly, the Sheraton room rates are also remaining the same at $89 a night. Every regular room was sold out at this rate this last show.

I'm not sure if we announced it here post MGC 2011, but the MGC recorded more than 5,000 visitors for the first time ever over the two-day event! A big THANK YOU to all of you here at Retroids that helped make that possible!

Finally, today the Midwest Gaming Classic is proud to announce a new official blog for the show: MGC In-Depth!

    http://www.mgcindepth.com

The new site is of course dedicated to all things Midwest Gaming Classic including interviews, features, in-depth news coverage, looks at the many games and consoles that you can find at the show, and finally a large media section where you can find several articles, videos, and of course podcasts covering the MGC! I just finished the site up a little while ago, so there's still a lot more content to come in the next few months leading up to the show!

Check the site out, and by all means, let me know what you think about it!

I look forward to hopefully seeing a lot of familiar and new faces from Retroids this coming show!

    Later.

Hey folks... In the midst of finals and graduation right now (woot!), but I just wanted to give a correction on my last post. I mentioned that Tom Taylor's 300+ unit arcade was "in-home". Actually, he rents an commercial location to house his collection which I have to say is absolutely incredible! Take a look at this article from 2010 that has a few shots from his location:

    http://www.brookfieldnow.com/multime.../88782387.html

I'm hoping to get an interview in soon-ish, though graduation is taking up much of my time right now... Well, that and Skyrim.

In any case, we'll try to post more information about this soon!

    Later.

Sorry man, I would offer to, but 1. I'm low on monies 2. I live 30-40 minutes away from MGC. I originally wanted to try and house some people, but I'm not sure that's gonna work out this year.

I'll talk things over with the wife to see if we might be able to come to Wisconsin. I can't fully commit right now though, so expect something in the next day or two.
