After watching Diablo 3 streams and reviews, and the fact that my pc cannot run D3, figured I'd play the next best thing.

Got it for about £3 as my local Game store went bust. Tried it for the first time last week and played about an hour and a half. Couldn't stand the campaign and shut that crap off. I thought this afternoon perhaps my impressions were warped having been in a s**tty mood that day, so i booted it back up with the intentions of finishing it in one sitting, which i did! I started to get into the gameplay more, even if it was generic and frankly a bit dull, but listening to some podcasts which playing made it a lot more tolerable. Played quite a bit of the multiplayer beta when that was out ages ago, and had no urge to jump into that for this game, which is good because the online pass was already used, with this game being preowned. That's my 3rd FPS completed this year, I think that's me done for a while. Still have stuff like Bad Company 1 (also got during Game's collapse) in my backlog which I'll probably try out at some point.

Trying to get a game finished every month where possible. Starting to enjoy playing a bit more though, having burned myself out in the past.

22. Lucid (Steam, 2012/05/31)

Cute little match-style puzzle game, all wobbly and spacey. It's very casual and relaxing, also very hard to stop: one more, one more, etc. The last 10 stages got tougher, but still pretty easy with a tiny bit of foresight.

After almost 2 years, and 102 hours played, I've finally beaten Valkyria Chronicles II.
Easily the best game (IMO) on the PSP but in production and in value. I beat the game and I feel like there's still a ton of stuff I could do. Brilliant game!

I'm hoping to finish Lucid soon as well, but those last levels have been rough. working around for a while trying to get a 3 or 4 chain can be real tough sometimes.

The trick is just to plan ahead. Key is to retain chain opportunities, since you have unlimited moves until you paint yourself into a corner. I think Lucid is a bit backstabby in that way, the first 40 levels it dangles the multiplier carrot in front of your face, then it switches to pure survival mode and score/multiplier becomes secondary.

About time I got to play the expansion. Really changing some gameplay elements during the playthrough and it is sure hard. I was doing some challenges to unlock more items. Cleared the challenge "The Doctor's Revenge", found the item "Epic Festus" and...

WOW...

Just... WOW...

With "Epic Festus" in your arsenal, it's a f***ing cake-walk, literary. Loving this game and its expansion! Definitively worth the $3 and whatever the price was for the game itself.
