The Last Story

so today is the day. my super sweet LE arrived.

after about an hours worth of play its pretty good.
sooo did anyone else score this or did they order it from GAME? lol

I picked it up as well. I'm about 4 hours in and pretty impressed with the game. Very different from what I was expecting. The cover based combat mechanics felt pretty strange at first but now I'm starting to dig it. I just opened up the ability to command squad mates which is nice.

i just got to lazulis. i love the combat especially since you can manipulate the battlefield. plus the lure that zael gets is awesome, a great way to add a strategic element

Well I managed to finish this. The story goes is bit off the rails at the end but overall I thought it was a good game and something that is worth playing. The battle system is great and I particularly like how magic was implemented with the circles. Going into this game I was expecting a pretty standard JRPG but this is far from that. Really it's much more of an action game.

I just wish this was on a more technically competent system, the Wii just can't handle what they were trying to do. The game slows down a lot when more than a dozen or so characters are on the screen, which is quite often. Even running around town is a chore since there is more civilian than there needed to be wandering around. I kind of wish they went for a more stylistic graphic approach rather than the gritty brown and gray "realistic" look it has.

The best part of the game is standing near a low hanging sign in town and watching NPC townsfolk bash there heads on them over and over. Cracks me up every time.
