Default Games you are kicking yourself for not keeping

For one reason or another, some of us are kicking ourselves for not holding onto a game; whether it's because it went up in value or because it was fun to play, we sold it off and it's impossible to find again.

A long time ago, when the 3DO came out, I was eager to trade someone my entire collection of Genesis and Sega CD games to a guy to help pay for one. There was one game in that collection that I really loved to play; it was an import (Japanese) game called Snow Bros. It was a platformer that came out in the arcade in the early '90s. The game was similar to Bubble Bobble, but with its 16-bit graphics and addictive gameplay, I found it to be a superior game (my opinion). Some of you may remember that it came out for the NES and was published by Capcom. But the Genesis (Japanese Megadrive) version of the game was a near perfect replica to the arcade version, and even included bonus levels after you beat the initial 50.

Recently I went on a search for that game, only to find a used one in original in box with instructions can go for nearly $300 or more! Mine was in perfect condition and I wish I had kept it...not only for its value, but it's not anywhere near affordable now.

Here's an example of an expensive Snow Bros. (while the auction lasts):

And the gameplay. So much fun!

I've had a ton of these as I've gone through many collection selling phases. It's really surprising which games seemed to jump up in value shortly after I've sold them (most recently I've been wanting to play the 360 version of Hitman: Blood Money but it's impossible for me to find used, and only a used copy goes for $30-40. I think I paid like $5 when I bought it used forever ago)

I've pretty much bought everything back I've ever regretted selling and at this point my mentality is to just hold on to everything, even if I won't play it again because it will likely be expensive or difficult to find in the future.

The biggest one off the top of my head is Boktai 2 which I still haven't repurchased. I originally found it in new in a bargain bin for $10.

Luckily I knew enough to never sell my Panzer Dragoon Saga, Chrono Trigger or Valkyrie Profile.

Basically my entire Saturn collection that I pretty much gave away for free!!

I had finally realized that the SATURN was dying and I needed to get PS1 so I sold my Saturn and all my games to a friend for something like $150....here are the games I gave him with it

    Panzer Dragoon Saga
    Panzer Dragoon
    Virtua Fighter 2
    X-Men: Children of the atom
    Marvel Superheroes
    X-Men vs SF(import)
    Shinning Force III
    Shining and the holy arc
    Daytona USE
    NiGHTs
Dragon Force(which I didn't even play once....I picked it up for cheap soon before I sold my saturn)

That's all I can remember off the top of my head but the big one there is PDS...he didn't even want the game bt I gave it to him anyway cause I'd have no use for it...... STUPID STUPID STUPID!!! I've since bought a few of those games back again with a SATURN....but I have a feeling I'll never own PDS again

You win. PDS is a big deal, but Shining Force 3, Shining the Holy Arc, and Dragon Force are very rare expensive games as well.

Mine seems a little Silly but it was a copy of Star Ocean Second Story for the PSone I loved this game back in the day and I wish I still had my copy still since most copies of it now on Ebay for a decent price I could get a copy again for $20 or so but some high end copies like brand new and not opened go between $80 up to $200 bucks

And I have seen the Guide for the game go for $25-45 new

And all I got is the PSP version however I sold my PSP to get my PSVita which I hope to someday get a used one back to play that game again

Heres a link to the $200 dollar one http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-PSX-PS1...item589353604a

I've kept most of what I've picked up over the years, but I'm still a bit sore getting rid of a few games like a complete copy of Castlevania Adventure for the Game Boy:

I also got rid of a good portion of my PlayStation 1 collection when the Dreamcast was released. I've slowly added most of those games back into my collection, but there are still some I'm looking for:

    • Bloody Roar 2
    • Bushido Blade 2
    • Countdown Vampires
    • Crash Team Racing
    • Dino Crisis 2
    • Gundam: Battle Assault
    • Jojo's Bizzare Adventure
    • Konami: Classics
    • Metal Gear Solid: The VR Missions
    • Quake 2
    • Railroad Tycoon 2
    • Resident Evil: Survivor
    • Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure
    • Romance of the Three Kingdoms 6
    • Tenchu
    • Tomba 2

    Later.
