If you're talking about A2 or higher, can't really help you there because the difficulty spike in A2 is immense and I can barely handle normal enemies at some points. I think I cleared the first two or three quests, but not without dying a LOT. They're also making A2-A4 easier on Inferno, which I heavily disagree with, but whatever I guess.

Also, if anyone is interested in a plethora of changes coming to the game in Patch 1.03, here's a link to yesterday's Blog Post:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/6262...-6_6_2012#blog
I'm playing wizard and I'm just hitting that absolute brick wall of difficulty that is Act 2. My build, including armour and weapons were geared mainly for staying back and doing the damage, slowing enemies down when my friends needed time to recovery.

As, up until Inferno I was mostly playing it with friends, but given the massive difficulty hike just in playing with other people at the moment on Inferno, that has scared us away from playing together for the moment.

Thankfully Blizzard are addressing this in patch 1.0.3 like you posted, they are removing the scaling of difficulty when playing together (damage and health, I think). I'm not sure if that is the best option because I did like how it scaled to be more difficult in earlier difficulties, its just that it is too extreme in Inferno.

That, and they have realised that the difficulty from Act 1 Inferno and Act 2 Inferno is insane and they are sorting that out so people can be more gradually introduced to it, I think I'll be alright from that patch onwards.

I believe in Patch 1.03 the are removing the extra damage enemies do in Multiplayer, but not the extra health. Since I don't have my Wizard beyond level 10, I can't really help you in that department. I believe Wizard and Hunters are running "glass cannon" builds right now for Inferno Acts 2-4. Basically, move quickly, stop to cast quick spells / take pot shots, repeat. For melee characters like my Monk, we have to be next to them to hit them, and their attack range is so good that swing, run, swing, run barely works. Not too mention that you can't outrun most of them, and some of them even gain on you (even with a little bit of movement speed+).

As for the difficulty jump, yeah, I can't think of anything off the top of my head that is as bad as that. Maybe playing an old Mortal Kombat game on the Hardest difficulty? Something like that, lol. From what I've played of Act 2...

Enemies just deal an insane amount of damage: some as much as 10k-15k hp per attack for my Monk

Champions / uniques having abilities that can K.O. you in 1 second: Fire Chains, Desecrator, etc.

Some of the AI is designed in a way that makes killing certain enemies ridiculously hard: Bees always run away from you, making it super difficult for melee characters to even hit them

Some attacks are really hard / near impossible to dodge: Bees' attack, Dark Berserker Hammer swing auto-tracks, hitboxes being too large, etc.

Unfortunately, some of the AI changes won't make it into 1.03, but the fact that they're working on it is enough for me. We still have Inferno Act 1, Hell Act 3/4, Whimsyshire, and other characters that we can play until 1.03 comes out, also.

Looks like there were a couple of Hotfixes yesterday. Link is at the bottom if you want to see the actual post, but I'll cover them here.

    - The Increased Monster Damage when playing multiplayer has been removed. Enemies still gain additional Health, though.

    - Fixed the Zolten Kulle exploit where you could turn in the quest for exp multiple times.

    - Reduced the amount of gold that ash pots in Act 1 and vases in Act 4 drop (sadface)

    - Tyrael now longer has collision when he is your active follower (? I guess I never realized you could run into him.)

Got to nightmare and played some with craig today. Man even though I am high DPS and Armor I definitely need it as barbarian. I'm fine with huge groups of as I get huge heals of individual kills. But on small groups of elites it's pretty tough. I can't kite very well with the barb, and my only ranged weapon depends on rage. Also got a lot lag playing with craig where my standstill button (mapped to spacebar) wasn't working. That is hugely annoying. I don't mind dying from my own fault, but having button inputs not working is pretty shabby.

I suppose that's the same idea as if you're holding down the move key and your character stops for a second when there's lag. Speaking of inputs and such, I really wish that there was an option for a few things:

    - Setting movement of the four cardinal directions to keyboard presses
    - Setting Move+Interact to its own button, effectively removing it from the Skill 1 Button / Left Click (You can already set Move to its own button which is extremely important, but this would make it better)
    - Or, Setting Skill 1 to a different button

As for playing on NM, yeah I totally believe it. I crushed NM with my Monk, but with Demon Hunter I've had a couple of issues, even when keeping my gear updated. I'm thinking it's the build I'm playing, because I'm currently sticking with being faster rather than using some of the harder hitting skills. Glass Cannon couldn't be a better name for Demon Hunters, though. My defense SUCKS.

Another HUGE difference between my Monk and Demon Hunter is the Life on Hit difference. This is a little known fact, but when you hit an enemy, you don't automatically gain life equal to your total Life on Hit. Each skill actually has a hidden modifier that tells the game what percentage of your Life on Hit you should get back. I believe difficulty level also comes into play, but I'm not 100% certain. Anyways, for my Monk, I found out that I would gain lots of life back from the skills I used, plus I had two Healing Skills, AND I gained life whenever I spent Spirit (Monk's "MP"). On top of that, Monk is an offensive based class, soooooo yeah.

On the other hand, I found out very quickly that the amount of life on hit you get back when using a Demon Hunter (or at least the skills I chose) seems to be much, much less. It got to the point where I completely stopped using my Life on Hit gem in my weapon and just pumped up damage. Plus, when using the Demon Hunter's primary skill, I'm usually only hitting 1 enemy at a time, whereas with my Monk, the primary I used hit many enemies at once, so that's another factor.

For anyone still having problems with lag and error 3007, I had pretty good results today running my network connection through a free VPN. It's been hit or miss for me since launch, recently it's seemed to be getting better, but I still have get lag and disconnects on the regular.

I had been having the crappiest time this afternoon, crazy lag resulting in multiple deaths and error 3007 disconnects every 10 minutes. Checking a couple forums, it looked like some people had been able to get a more stable connection running through a VPN, so I fired up Hamachi and ended up being able to play the whole rest of the afternoon with no disconnects and barely any lag.

Since it hs been so random for me up until now, I need to run it this way for a bit before I can say this is a fix, but so far so good.

Have you tried forwarding ports on your router or putting your IP in DMZ just to test it out and see if those would help? If it's better through VPN that's cool, just curious if you tried those.

I still get a little bit of rubberbanding here and there, and some minor freezes / lag delays, but usually nothing too serious at all. My biggest complaint is that for some reason, whenever I'm playing and I leave my computer for say, 15-20 min or so, when I come back it will say my client has been disconnected from the server. This happens almost every time, so I ALWAYS make sure I hit a Checkpoint before going upstairs for a break, get something to drink, etc. It seems to be somewhere in that 15-20 minute range, or maybe even as much as 25-30 minutes, but I'm wondering if they implemented something to boot idle players to keep the servers less populated. *shrug*

Like I said, it's really not the end of the world if I make sure I got to a Checkpoint, however my gripe is because once you hit Level 60, you can build up a bonus called Nephalem Valor that increases your Magic Find pretty drastically, and if you disconnect, it's gone. There have been a few times where I will max out the NV bonus at 5, go upstairs to talk to someone or somethin' and when I come back I'm dc'ed. Not a very happy camper when I built that up on Inferno and lost it.

But yeah. Overall things are great, and I'm still shocked at the amount of problems both you and Shino have had.

Finished Normal over the weekend and got started on Nightmare. I just beat the Skeleton king. Nothing interesting in the way of drops yet in Nightmare.

Of course... when it comes to these types of games... I never get drops that are as good as what you can find in the auction house.

I've had a few drops that were sold for 100k buyout in the auction house now. But nothing that I've felt like equipping myself. My rule of thumb it item sell value on card <300gold = Salvage for Crafting, >300gold = take a close look at the properties and see if it's worth an auction, >500gold = is almost always worth 100k in gold at the auction.

But again, still have not really had any decent drops that are good for my character, and the barbarian is much more gear dependent than the other classes so that is a bit lame.
