    Ouya = "Oh yeah"
    my mind is blown.

    From what i can tell, the ouya doesn't really seem to have a market to cater to.
    most casual games aren't gonna care. the specs of this are probably too low to intice core gamers.
    I can see this being interesting for indie developers, and thats probably it.

    Not to mention that rumoured $150 superslim ps3 just around the corner...

    The game they were showing is called ShadowGun and is available on iOS and Android.

    The Tegra 3 has an on-board "12-core" GPU.
    It is available in tablets and phones.

    yeah, I read that later. I think what threw me was the fact that they were using a different controller. Supposedly, the controller in all of the videos and promotional stills is still not final. Then again, to me it seems like much about this system isn't final, either.

    With the controller there's more to consider. There are patents out there to dodge and stuff like that...
    The console I think is done (prototype anyway) so it's just a matter of finalizing the d-pad and getting it out there.
    I've backed it so I'll definitely be talking about it once I actually get one.

    Only reason I haven't backed it yet is that I'm not entirely sold on it. I think the concept is sound, but "taking phone/tablet development to the couch?" -- I need to see examples of games of that type that actually excite me. If it's angry birds for the living room...I will be less than excited.

    No doubt there is risk there... right now, you can't really say that it is much more than phone game on your TV, but what they are actually trying to do with it is get people that couldn't develop for a console before on to this. So there is potential for games that would show up on Ouya that aren't "phone" games.
    There are also developers that stay away from Android development b/c of the fact that there are so many devices. Developing for Ouya means you're developing for one device. So that could tempt developers that have formerly strayed from Android development.

    That said... still a risk. I did back it mainly b/c ... even if it doesn't do what they say they want it to do, I will still get use from the box b/c I can root it and turn it into a media center/emulation box.
