I didn't realize that had been officially announced, but good for you guys - I'm 43 games into it now and still going strong.

It really is a shame for board/card game fans that also happen to be Android users. Every single mobile port of these games I've been interested in has been either "iOS" or "iOS first". It's one of the few game types that you know will automatically feel right with a touch screen as well - the transition of moving a physical piece to swiping to drag it is so natural.

I don't think it has officially been announced, but I read that the mentioned "working on it" on their facebook page.

It's really odd that more games don't come out for multiple platforms too considering there are tools out there that will help you develop for both pretty much at the same time.

I think a lot of it has to do with familiarity. Playdek is the developer that brought this to iOS - and they've specifically done 8 or 9 card games already for iOS, so it might just be quicker and easier to see a return on it.

I also don't really know how the business model works for these ports: if Playdek is only seeing a percentage on each sale, then it would be in their best interest in terms of cash-flow to get something out quicker and then later branch to Android or supplement the app later. I'm sure that's why the current iteration only contains 8 of the 16 factions, and only 4 of those currently have AI.

(That's not a knock on the game either - I haven't played against the AI since the first day or two of it's release).

I'm not sure if PlayDek have said anything about an Android port but Colby Dauch the games designer/owner of Plaid Hat Games mentions it would come to Android on an episode of the Plaid Hat Podcast. Given that Playdek haven't done any Android games yet I would expect it any time soon.

Also Scott Playdek have only really done 4 card games for ios. Ascension, Food Fight, Nightfall and Summoner Wars. I guess you could see it as 6 if you count the 2 Ascension Expansions. Also they are busy working on a Nightfall Expansion and Agricola.

ACK... I was thinking that Playdek and Big Daddy's Creations were the same company (Neuroshima Hex & Puzzle, Army of Frogs, Caylus and a couple others, including an upcoming Eclipse release). Now that you bring it up, "board/card" would've been a better distinction in the first place. Regardless, thanks for the correction/clarification.
