I think continuing to add on to what they established to GTA IV will work best. Saints Row has filled that void of the over the top action the PS2/Xbox GTAs delivered, and took it up to another level with SR3. I think it wouldn't hurt for GTA V to maybe have some mild undertones of the PS2/Xbox glory days. Maybe a little more forgiving driving controls, eventually I warmed up to GTA IV's driving controls, but man did it take forever. Oh yeah, please Rockstar do away with the "friend rating" system. I loved the perks they delivered but I can only handle so many stripped down versions of bowling and darts.

See, I really don't think SR3 came close to the older GTA games. Yes it was over the top and let you do some really wacky stuff, but I think it went too far, that and the world felt empty, and not like you were in a living thing, which is something Rockstar do very well.

GTA4 was too serious. I'm not looking for wacky or crazy. The game should be a satire of real life with lots of dark humor.

Yep. To be honest I'd be perfectly happy with a full HD remake of GTA San Andreas, and GTA Vice City as DLC.

Don't make it THAT easy for them. I'm sure they can do better than that. GTA4's "ballad of gay tony" was definitely a step in the right direction.

I think GTA4 was maybe a little too straightforward in tone, but gay tony was perfect. I really hope they don't go with a zany revisit to San Andreas. Really don't think SR3 was that great, played it on PC for a bit and then uninstalled.

A lot of my enjoyment in GTA4 was just strolling around or driving, not even going postal in the slightest.
