    Great first part guys

Sounds like an 8 year old understands Magic way more than me! Wish I knew how to play a bit more... all I know is Green Deck and that's it

    Thanks for the feedback Jake!!!

Magic has always been a game that I have enjoyed for many reasons, such as: hanging out with friends, there is enough mechanics to it that keeps one interested longer than some of the other TCGs out there, it has a tone of strategy behind it (which I love to strategize on anything from games to laser tag), each of the colors approaches are oriented towards a specific mindset, and so on. For the different colors, I am a huge fan of Black/Red because I like to death and destruction that those two colors offer.

As far as getting to know Magic a bit more, its just a matter of finding a friend or two and putting a little bit of money into some newer decks. For example, here a theme deck which consists of one ready to play deck and two booster packs for $16 USD is a great value for someone wanting to ease into/back into Magic. It something that you and some friends could go get and be playing quickly. Also, a great resource for rules and the way the game is played is http://www.mtgsalvation.com/. If you don't have many friends interested, or like us on our podcast, struggle finding the time to play as much as we would like, I do see the you have MTG Duels of the Planeswalker 2012 on your backlog. That is also a great place to start as well. Tony from our podcast got back into Magic after many years of a break, and got his feet wet going that route and it proved to be a great foundation for how the game is played.

Good luck on your backlog and if you have any questions around Magic you can always drop us a line on our site at http://gamerswithchildren.com/, collectively between the three of us we have around 40 years of Magic experience and would be more than happy to get help you out if you start getting back into Magic.

It's cool to see another podcast talking Magic since I spent 20+ minutes talking about Magic Online on the last Amplified Gamers. Listening made me really wish I had some people that lived nearby to play with. MTGO works for the mechanics of the game, but you miss out on the social aspect of hanging with friends.

There's a website one of the guys found that shows people looking for games in your area. We live in a pretty rural area and there were about 100 people on the site. I'll see if I can get it from him or post it here. Thanks for checking us our BluSteele. Part 2 should be incoming soon.

    Blusteele,

The website I found was www.meetup.com. You put in your zip and search for MTG.

Thanks for listening, it won't be our last episode on MTG. I'm just getting back into it and look forward to the next release.

The concept of gaming with children is a cool idea. Being a father and having to seriously downgrade the amount of time I spend gaming I can relate to this. I'll be checking out more episodes and keeping up with this!

Related/unrelated: Do you guys accept call-ins or skype in people to discuss these topics? I've always been interested in talking about how kids growing up gaming these days find retro gaming (PC Engine, NES) to be a lesser style of gaming in comparison to the current gen, while some kids think (Like I do) that gaming in the 80s/90s is superior to what we have these days....

    Keep up the good work>

Thanks for the comments. We've discussed having call ins and want to at some point. We are still working out some kinks here and there. Ill update when we can. Possibly a few episodes down the road.
    Thanks again.
