This past weekend (June 28, 2014), Galloping Ghost Arcade—now known as the largest arcade in the U.S.—hosted an event called Shang Tsung’s Fight Night IV. Ten of the original cast of Mortal Kombat (1, 2, 3) actors as well as a couple of members of the development team showed up for the event, much to the delight of fans that were in attendance.

Doc Mack, owner of Galloping Ghost Arcade opened up an entire room in the arcade and set up tables lined with photos featuring the actors in their character poses. The cast sat behind the tables, interacted with the crowd and signed photos, t-shirts, control panels, toys and anything else their fans brought in. At one point the line was so long, it stretched out the door into the main floor of the arcade. The event was put on free of charge and open to anyone that just paid the regular, every day admission to the arcade. The night was nothing short of amazing for the fans of MK the actors alike. Everyone had a great time.

This was the first time in around 20 years that this many members of the original cast of MK games were in the same room together. Some of the actors from sequels of the game met other actors for the first time. It was very much like a reunion of old friends. The cast and crew that made an appearance were: Daniel Pesina (Johnny Cage, Sub Zero, Scorpion, Reptile), Carlos Pesina (Raiden), Richard Divizio (Kano, Baraka, Kabal & Quan Chi), Philip Ahn (Shang Tsung), John Parrish (Jax), Kerri Ann Hoskins Branson (Sonya Blade), Lia Montelongo (Sindel), Brian Glynn (Shao Khan), Anthony Marquez (Kung Lao), and Sal Divita (Nightwolf, Sektor, Cyrax). John Vogel (one of the four people that developed the first Mortal Kombat game) and MK game tester, Mike Vinikour were also in attendance.

VGEvo’s founders Ken, Paul and “Trickman” Terry were there to capture video footage and highlights from the event (see below). Look for much more video footage from the event in the coming week.
